Papayo is one of these recently-spotlit varieties shrouded in mystery – is it ombligon in disguise? A local mutation, a derivative of pink bourbon? The result of an abandoned coffee research agricultural center? A well cultivated Ethiopian landrace varietal thriving seemingly exclusively in Huila, Colombia? That’s just the tip of the iceberg if you try to dive into what gets bandied about on the internet. I, however, choose to believe that the best answer is the most simple one- aliens. You ask me to prove it? I say prove me wrong. Check mate.
